On Saturday, February 23rd, the Office of Vocation & Ministry (OVM) hosted the Eighth Annual Saint Photios the Great Faith & Learning Symposium. This annual event provides Orthodox Christian college students from Boston-area colleges and universities the space to reflect on the relationship between their faith and lives as college students. This year we explored the topic of "Faith and the Arts" and addressed how we, as Orthodox Christians, understand the relationship between our faith and the arts - literature, poetry, theatre and the fine arts.
...The Orthodox Scholars Initiative (OSI) has published the newest issue of Synergia, the OSI newsletter. Each issue of Synergia gives a snapshot of some of the recent developments in the world of Orthodox higher education. It highlights new publications by Orthodox scholars, upcoming conferences and lectures, and the outstanding activities of prominent Orthodox scholars. Synergia also announces new resources that the Orthodox Scholars Initiative is offering to Orthodox scholars.

The Orthodox Scholars Initiative (OSI) has launched a new page on its website to help students, scholars, and professionals connect to the organizations that are enhancing Orthodox higher education. The page provides a listing of the colleges, institutes, and projects that are part of a growing Orthodox presence in the world of academia. Some of the institutes and projects focus on undergraduate education in general, others are housed at specific universities, and still others are dedicated to certain academic and professional fields. All of them are related to the mission of the Orthodox Scholars Initiative, which seeks to connect Orthodox scholars and students, to enhance their sense of vocation in their various disciplines, and to encourage a stronger relationship between Orthodox faith and higher education.
