Day 1

See the CrossRoaders on their first day learning about each other in a series of games and activities.

Day 2 (Video)

On Day 2, Fr. Nick served a teaching liturgy and explained to the participants what happens behind the altar.  In the afternoon, we headed to Beverly for a Project Adventure Ropes Course stressing teamwork and trust.  The theme Vocation and Worship was presented in the evening activities.  A Small Compline service completed the day. 

Day 3

Today the CrossRoaders experienced Orthodoxy in the Arts through iconography, chanting and vestment making workshops.  Then they went to a Great Paraklesis service.  Following dinner, the staff lead activities discussing the sanctification of time. 

Day 4

Today the CrossRoaders had their first of five days of classes with Fr. Pentiuc and Dr. Katos.  Then after lunch they enjoyed playing soccer and frisbee.  Following a presentation at Boston College about OCF that ended early, the participants took full advantage of a neighboring playground.  Afterwards, they headed to a local Russian Church for evening service and dinner.  The night's activities explored the topic of Vocation & Pop Culture. 

Day 5

Today after classes, we had the opportunity to take a historic tour around Boston Harbor.  Afterwards, Bp. Nikon and Fr. Arthur of St. George Albanian OCA Church hosted us for discussion, dinner and a small evening service.  Upon returning to campus, we headed to the Chapel to venerate the relics of the Chapel and to discuss the lives of the saints and how we can connect this to our vocation. 

Day 6 (Video)

Following classes and lunch, we traveled to historic Faneuil Hall for some souvenir shopping and lunch.  We ate dinner in the monastic style (silent except for one person reading allowed), and had quiet reflection time.     The night finished with Sister Ignatia speaking about her decision to become a monastic. 

Day 7

The participants were able to put their knowledge of Orthodoxy to the test through a Defending the Faith activity after classes.  St. George Albanian Orthodox Church hosted us for an evening divine liturgy for the feast day of Sts. Peter and Paul.  Following dinner, we returned to campus to hear Fr. Kevin speak about tomorrow's Breakfast Search. 

Day 8

In the morning, we went on our Breakfast Search (unable to be photographed).  Since we had risen so early for this, after lunch we rested during Be Still Time.  Then we went to the Holy Resurrection Bulgarian Orthodox Church for Vespers and dinner.  Upon returning to HCHC, Dr. Rossi, professor at St. Vladimir's Seminary, spoke about Vocation and Relationships. 

Day 9

This afternoon, after liturgy, we were blessed to be able to go 3 local nursing homes to spend some times with the residents.  Then we headed to Holy Archangels Greek Orthodox Church for vespers and dinner.  Fr. Luke spoke to us in the evening about vocation and missions. 

Day 10 

After Liturgy and brunch, we went to Winter Island in Salem for some relaxation.  At night, we celebrated Alex R.'s birthday and participated in some closing activities.
