Female Mentor/Tutor (3.20.15)

Looking for a reliable, fun, warm, upbeat female to spend time with my almost 11 year old daughter after-school. The role would be part mentor, part babysitter, part tutor/homework helper. The person would need to pick her up from school at 2:30 and bring her back to our house where they would then work on homework together and have some fun time until I get home from work at 5:30. This would be Mon-Fri 2:30-5:30 (15 hrs per week) through the end of June. I am able to pay $150 per week.

Given that my daughter is now at that tween stage and quite impressionable, my hope is that the person could establish a special bond with her and serve as a positive role model as well as helping with homework. The ideal candidate would have experience working with kids this age, able to do 5th grade math, non-smoking, very reliable and trustworthy, and able to make nice connections with kids. The candidate would need to be mature, firm  but also flexible and fun, with good people skills. We have 2 cats so the person would need to feel comfortable in a house with cats. We live on Mendum St in Roslindale which is about 10 minutes from the college.

I am a single mom and work full time in a palliative care program. If this sounds like you please get in touch. Thanks!
